OOC: Why'd I only get a partial action? Dismounting is move equivalent, and drawing my bow is a Free action, so shouldn't I still be able to fire?

IC: ALexander keeps firing at the mage until he drops.

Tores slows down for a brief moment as to question his movement, but for some strange reason he overcomes his strange mood swings and continues the charge that the mage.

OOC: sorry bout the firing, but i try and base my rounds off of logic. You are dismounting from a wounded, kicking horse. You are also dropping a 12 foot lance. Somewhere in here, you have managed to, despite encumbering armour, draw a longbow (that's 6 feet from tip to tip correct) Drawing another arrow, nocking it, and taking aim. This is somehow taking place in 3 seconds. Here, i'll get a stopwatch, if anyone here can draw an nock a longbow from a safe compartment (such as preventing breakage in case of a fall) in 5 seconds i'll give it to you. Now, onto the round.

Sul'Dan, continues his slow advance and fires again, (13+7=20) but this time, the gods smile upon him, and the arrow sticks strait through the mage's thigh (7+2=9). Alexander, takes a step forward, and also fires his bow (natural 20 2+6=8), slashing open the mage's arm (2). Arcanra, charges into the fray, and swings wildly with his sword (11+6=17), opening a cut along the unprotected mage's chest (5+1=6). Tores continues running towards the mage, has a momentary freeze up, and then continues again... yeah. Gavin continues moving until he is in position to strike next round. Jasper [sorry for moving for you, but we needed to keep things moving] notices that all available Zhents have fled, and begins advancing upon the camp. The mage, looked like he was preparing another spell, but instead, gasps, and sinks to his knees with a bloody gurgle. As Arcanra stands rather triumphantly over his seemingly defeated foe, three reddish bolts of energy streak out from a well adorned tent, and strike Arcanra, knocking the breath from his body, and bruising his frail elvish skin horribly (14). Also, noticeable, are several fairly timid looking Zhents emerging from around the camp at the now isolated Arcanra.....

I drop my bow, and with a bellow of rage, charge toward the Zhents, drawing my greatsword as I go.

"Your blood will stain the dunes, slavers!"

OOC: can I get an Intimidate check on that? These Zhents look ready to run, and I got a +7 skill check just begging to be used :)

Hehehe

Gavin looks at the new comers with distrust, Damn magic users...

Qucikly scanning the area, Gavin will take up an postion and begin unloading arrows into any tagerts that provide him the must suprise, closely to melee if forced too.

Gavin draws back the bow-string and begins fire arrows at any and all 'magic' users in the area of his person, "Slavers, blah, everyone has to make a living, but, Zhents..."

OK... I'll accept that b/c your the DM and the DM's word is law (Plus it don't really matter much right now.) BUT I would like to ask a few questions:
When did rounds become 3 seconds long? I thought they were 6.
Aren't warhorses bred for battle?
When did you say the horse was kicking?
Doesn't dropping something take like less than a second?
There are no PHB rulings of Medium Armour affecting the rate you can drawing weapons, have you made some?
Alex has quick draw, which is made specifically for drawing things quickly, did you change that too?
Does he Mounted Combat feat still allow me to make a ride check to negate a hit against my steed or does the armour interfere with that, too?
If the armour does interfere with drawing weapons and making ride checks (According to PHB it doesn't but I don't know if you've changed that), then when we get to the next town can I exchange my Breastplate for Chain Shirt?

You can see how I was confused.. My logic AND the rules/Information that I had access to at the time told me it was possible. As I cannot read minds, I know not what rulings you've changed or instituted until you post them.
Once you've posted it I'll keep it in mind for the future.

Also I'ld like to add that In My Opinion the "If normal people can't do it in real life your character can't do it" attitude is the exact opposite of the concept of D&D. Our characters aren't us, they aren't normal, they aren't from the 21st century, they HAVE trained specifically to do things that 'normal' people wouldn't have a clue how to do, especially in this day and age. But as I said above, that's just my opinion, so don't get mad about it, anyone.

*sigh* ok, I'll shut up now.

IC:
Alexander grunts as his leg catches in the stirup as he tries to get off his horse, then again as his bow gets stuck as he tries to draw it, and when he finally does let fly, groans in frustration upon seeing that he barely nicked his target.
"Well that was graceful of me.."
He looks around, seeing the people advancing on Arcanra. (How far away from the camp is Alex?) If he's within range he'll charge at them, droppnig his bow and drawing his sword. If he's not within 40' of them, he'll continue firing at whichever ones aren't in melee with his companion(s) if possible.
(How bad off is my horse? Is he bucking, trying to run, laying down in pain, what?) If his horse will survive on its own, he'll move forward methodically as he fires (20' move then fire), If his horse is having troubles or anything he'll stay near it in the hopes of keeping it calm ("Shh.. there there, boy." *Twang* "We'll have you fixed up in.." *Twang* "..no time, buddy."

Tores' face begins looking more and more normal, and he stops what he's doing. He drops his sword in the sand and draws his bow. He says with an unenthusiastic tone, "I would be better if only I agreed with myself." As he finishes his heartful speech, he prepares to launch an arrow at the Zhents.
