Clarifications: This entire time a mage of indeterminate strength had been invisible hiding somewhere. He appeared behind Tores by firing a volley of magic missiles that smacked up Sul'Dan pretty bad (they look very similar to the ones that beat up Arcanra). I will also be clear in that with the dagger to the throat, I don't roll for damage, I roll a percentile, there is an 80% chance the opponent succeeds in slitting the throat and causing death (2 rounds). If the roll is below 30% it is death in one round. And at minimum, it will be a critical hit. (This is both for clarification and realism) Also, the mage doesn't appear to have noticed Gavin. The guide is nowhere to be seen.

The mage continues "I only want to get out of here, keep your weapons where I can see them, and retrieve some valuables from around the caravan for me to take with me in my escape." He turns to the party with a sly look. "In fact, I know of a secret compartment with something that may interest you, In return for a portion of the gold and my freedom I'll tell you where it is, without me though, you'll never find it!"

'Well, Lads...this whole thing seems to be an Orcish Standoff...I vote for a deal with that Wizard, lest Tores there get the worst of the Deal.'

"I say we just kill him. It's not like Tores has been any use to us, in any case. Look at the way he acted in that last fight."

I keep my voice calm and reasonable. I make no move to lower my weapon, but nor do I advance.

Hmmm

Great, I wonder if I can get around the otherside of him, and place a part of steel in him... Gavin mumbles to himself as he begins stalking closer to the Mage in the shadow.

OOC: Depending on how far away Gavin is from the Mage he will ethier attempt a SA using his bow, or SA using his Katar...

Arcanra looks at the wizard, "you know, friend, you really couldn't have picked a worse hostage. Let's be realistic here, the wizard is about as unstable as an earthquake, he has some, uh for lack of a better word, issues that seem to arise at the worse moments. I know I wouldn't want to be that close to him in a situation like this...." Arcanra lets the thought hang there for a minute, "why not settle this rationally, without someone else getting killed?" Like I am going to do to you for unloading that spell on me

OOC: Diplomacy Roll please, at +8

'Sure, the Wizard is pretty Useless, but aren't all WIzards useless? I mean look at this here Zhent, all his Wizardin' ain't done squat fer him...he's down to using a Dagger to parley fer his life. I don't know, this whole situation stinks, but I'd hate to let him git murdered like this and all...' Jasper keeps his prattle up, with the crossbow trained on the Zhent's face, hoping to distract him so that his companions can sneak around for whatever they were planning. They had better hurry, though, the Zhent was likely to get desperate soon...

OOC: actually, I think we are just waiting for our DM to let us know how Gavin's Sneak Attack goes. At least, I am :)

IC: Sul'Dan is playing for time so that Gavin can jump the mage. As soon as he does, I will charge, calling for Arcanra to follow me. I'm hoping the mage will be too distracted to gut Tores, but if he does, Arcanra needs to be on the scene fast to try and heal the damage.

Alexander's standing a ways away (DM still hasn't said exactly how far, I don't think..) waiting patiently while the others distract the Zhent. As soon as the first move(Attack) has been made, he quickly raises his nocked bow and fires at the Zhent(Assuming he's not dead), hoping to finish him off.
