Shades of Netheril (2)

"If the half-orcs are slave labour, then freeing them might be our only way to get past the guards and into the mine. The confusion ought to cover our movements, and there are enough orcs that they should get a few of the guards, too."

Can we see where the labourers are penned when they aren't working? Some kind of enclosure?

when off duty, which seems to consist of eating a meager amount of dried meat and drinking out of a trough and sleeping, the half-orcs are kept in tents, although they appear to be chained before being allowed in. One guard seems to be presiding over all of the off duty orcs...

"There." I point at the lone guard, "That is a weak point. If we can deal with that guard quickly and quietly, and then have one of us take his place, the others could offer the orcs their freedom, if they are willing to try and take it."

Does the guard seem to have the keys for the orcs' chains? How far is he from the rest of the camp? Is he easily seen by the others? How often does the guard change (we will wait until dark to approach, so we should have some time to observe)

OOC:F-T, I assumed that you had seen my Thread:My computer died, it might be awile until
I can get online again...Thread.

IC: 'Well Lads, I don't have much in the way of dealings with Half-Orcs, but I wager that they'd make a good diversion at the very least, should we free 'em.' Jasper cocks his crossbow, trying to get a better read on the numbers of the enemy, whilst remaining low in hiding.

Cap what is the name of your PC?

First in...hmm...find the good loot first...

"I think that I might be able to get close enough, closer then our current vantage point anyway..." Gavin speaks quickly, in snapped tones, "The question is if I get caught, will I be able to count on support?"

OOC: Gavin will use Sneak, Hide (and keep his eyes open) after this discussion to find out more information.

Also, Fel, if you lost a player, I don't know your opinion, I could play another PC if there are whole in the party.

OOC: Arcanra will be fixing his bowstring, putting a new one on, while observing the mine entrance and discussing strategy. I seen to recall a post by MD Addict that stated that real life was taking a toll and he was dropping out as Tores. It was back on page 4 I believe. Sul'dan should definately take the wand. I can use any wands that have Illusion Spells that are on the Illusion Domain list, but other than that, all other arcane wands are off limits to me.

"Yes Gavin, you will have our support," Arcanra grins, "although I would wait until I get my bow repaired first. As for a plan, I like Sul'dan's. We'll have to take that guard out first, and very fast however. I don't think that we can deal with all of the guards and hope to last very long." Arcanra continues to work on his bow. Mending spell should do the trick.

Arcanra mends his bow. Gavin then sneaks in close to the guard. Due to the noise and distraction of the excavation, Gavin is easily unnoticed. It seems fairly obvious that no one would notice if you could off the guard in one round, but one scream, and the entire camp is alerted. Luckily, he does seem to have the keys, and there are 90 half-orcs.... In fact Gavin almost feels that he could pick pocket the keys off of the guard and free the slaves.... almost...

Alexander also covers Gavin, his bow knocked and aimed at the guards head, just waiting to see what happens.

OOC: Ready action: fire my arrow at the guard if he sees any of us, or if anybody attacks him.
