Shadow Dancer's Shadow Illusion

What's the DC to disbelieve the illusion when it's interacted with?

I realize there's typical formulas most DCs fall into (Sp Lvl + Modifier, 1/2HD + Modifier, etc).

The Shadow Dancer's Shadow Illusion seems awkward because the PrC's isn't a caster class at all. It's primary modifier is Dex ... and when is Dex ever used for a DC? Tapping into another attribute, even Cha, seems like it's asking for an abyssmally low DC to an ability that replicates a 1st level spell 1p/d at ECL10 ... ?

Well, it is either a spell0like ability. You listed the standard spell DC.

Um, nothing says it uses Dex. I have the DMG...and the SRD...neither states Dex.

So DC should be 11 + modifier. I'd say Con modifier since everyone uses Con and most supernatural abilities use Con.

Although, this one is spell-like, it doesn't seem that awkward (I mean you are able to Hide in Plain sight/Create Shadow monster so you aren't mundane).

So yeah, DC 11 + Con modifier.

Clarification: There is no attribute tied to Shadow Illusion at all in the text, hence the question. So, I turned to the prereqs for Shadow Dancer as guidance, and those are almost exclusively Dex based (Dodge, Mobility, Combat Reflexes, Hide, Move Silently) which, in my mind, makes it the dominant modifier for the class. Right or wrong, that's the thought process that lead me there at least.

I named Cha as a secondary possibility since the one exception in the prereqs is Perform (Dance) which is Cha based ... that and the skill list has a few Cha based skills.

Anyway, thanks for responding.

According to the SRD
The save DC is: 10 + the level of the spell the ability resembles or duplicates + the creature’s Cha modifier. This is for all spell-like abilities.

According to the SRD
The caster level is: If no caster level is specified, the caster level is equal to the creature’s Hit Dice.

Shadow Illusion (Sp)
When a shadowdancer reaches 3rd level, she can create visual illusions. This ability’s effect is identical to that of the arcane spell silent image and may be employed once per day.
The text doesn't need to specify how it works. It's listed as a spell-like ability (Sp) so, given that it doesn't list any special parameters for its version fo the spell, it falls under the general rule for spell-like abilities, as described in 2 or 3 of the core rulebooks (seriosuly, they reprinted the rule in most or all of the core books just to be clear).

Some spell-like abilities duplicate spells that work differently when cast by characters of different classes. A monster’s spell-like abilities are presumed to be the sorcerer/wizard versions. If the spell in question is not a sorcerer/wizard spell, then default to cleric, druid, bard, paladin, and ranger, in that order.

It's kinda funny, at the time I posted the question I knew I had read the rules somewhere, but couldn't find the damn thing. Now that it's been pointed out, I dunno how I missed it.

"Where did I put my keys?"

"In your hand?"

*sigh*

Thanks, btw.
