Shadow Demon

First Post
Hi,
I intend to use the Shadow Demon in my campaign but am unsure on how to use its Malevolence Special Attack.
It says that it works as Magic Jar except that there is no receptacle. So if the victim fails her Will Save, what happens to her soul since no receptacle is available? Do both souls live in the same body, the demon taking over until he departs? Does the victim get crazy or simply die from the experience??
Thanks. :D

Since the shadow demon isn't 3.5, I'd just use the 3.5 ghost's malevolence ability, modifying the DCs as necessary.

Malevolence (Su): Once per round, an ethereal ghost can merge its body with a creature on the Material Plane. This ability is similar to a magic jar spell (caster level 10th or the ghost’s Hit Dice, whichever is higher), except that it does not require a receptacle. To use this ability, the ghost must be manifested and it must try move into the target’s space; moving into the target’s space to use the malevolence ability does not provoke attacks of opportunity. The target can resist the attack with a successful Will save (DC 16). A creature that successfully saves is immune to that same ghost’s malevolence for 24 hours, and the ghost cannot enter the target’s space. If the save fails, the ghost vanishes into the target’s body.

Thanks Shade, but my question was about the victim. If she fails her save, she gets the demon in her body but what happens to her soul since it has nowhere to go?? I'm tempted to play it as 'suppressed' or dominated as long as the demon controls the body. But maybe it means death for the character..?
