Other than the compression of scale--which 13th Age also does, and is kind of a net-neutral for both unless you strongly prefer a more steady reward-cycle (but still want levels)--I thought it had a lot of very good design elements, enough so its one of the three games in the D&D-sphere I'll really give the time of day to.

But the undertone of grimness and darkness is not a virtue from where I sit, and you have to do some serious work with assumptions in a few areas to uproot it.
