Shadow Stride

The Shade template in the FRCS gives an ability called Shadow Stride. This ability is like Dimension Door, except it only works in shadowy areas. It's also a move action! This is important, as I want to be able to use it in conjunction with Spring Attack. My question is: is there a piece of equipment (a ring, maybe) that duplicates this ability?

If it's like Dimension Door, after using it you can take no other actions in your turn.

If it is a teleportion subschool effect, then you can't split your movement with it, anyways.

As for similar abilities, the Shadowdancer PRC has something similar. I can't think of items offhand.

You can't use either an item or such an ability while spring attacking, anyhow.

When using the attack action with a melee weapon, you can move both before and after the attack, provided that your total distance moved is not greater than your speed.

Activating the ability in question is a move action, but spring attack only allows that you move before and after the attack. You don't get a move action either before or after (and absolutely not before and after).

I think you *do* get a Move action in addition to your Standard action... it's just that using it isn't part of Spring Attack. So you could move 20 ft., attack, move 10 ft. and then take your Move action (to teleport or whatever).

Technically speaking, yes.
But offhand, I think that a lot of DM's houserule it to as Henrix stated.

AbeTheGnome - make sure that your DM is okay with your idea, many a good tactic has been nerfed by a DM who hadn't been consulted about it.
