Shadow Weave Magic Question

I have a question from the FRCS.

I have a wizard that took the Shadow Weave Feat.

Now this leaves me with a question. It says I get a bonus for any spell with the Darknes descriptor.

So can I learn any spell that is in the darkness descriptor even if it isnt a wizard spell? I ask because most spells that have the Darkness listing are not wizard spells so gaining this feat wouldnt gain that much.

As an example. Could my wizard now learn the 5th level spell Darkbolt?

Presumably there are a lot of divine Shadow Weave users out there (for instance, priests of Shar)?

And are there some new arcane darkness spells in Magic of Faerun? Can't remember....

I do not remember the specifics about the feat but I do know that the Shadow Adept Prestiege class which is really the point of taking the feat requires you to be able to cast 3rd level arcane spells.

Of course I have also noticed already a few screwups on this in FRCS and the book with all the info on the Shades.

The Shadow Adept prestige class requires you to be able to cast third level arcane or third level divine spells. There is plenty of room in the requirements for a cleric of Shar to take the prestige class.

It is fairly easy to forget the divine spell casting option for the Shadow Weave Adept. The only reason I remember it was I was thinking of ways to make a character on his way to the True Necromancer class, and came up with this:

Cleric 5
Wizard (Necromancer) 1
Shadow Weave Adept 4
True Necromancer 10

Put all your +1 to spellcasting levels into your necromancer spellcasting option. You can be a 15th level arcane caster with only one level of Wizard (and no levels of Bard or Sorcerer).

This would be a good one to post on the FR list since SKR posts there with some frequency. I'll post it for you and see if I can get any replies from "the man"
