I’ve got the current Cursed Scroll volumes but haven’t dug into then. How do the newer classes compare to the core ones?
They're generally more specialized, generally a little more complex, generally a little more powerful.

The Knight of St. Ydris is very much tied to the setting in Cursed Scroll #1 and there's a very specialized mystical desert assassin in Cursed Scroll #2 that is likewise not very generic.

On the other hand, the witch, the pit-fighter and warlock are all very portable and good classes.

And the two stretch goal classes from the original Kickstarter -- bard and ranger, each of which will be in the coming Cursed Scroll issues -- are very generic and generally very good classes.

All of the Cursed Scroll classes are much less archetypal than the four core book ones and are extremely optional, IMO. No one in your group is going to feel super-deprived if they can't play a Viking seer, for instance.
