I think SRA was the best version of SR in a while. Simply due to it being rules lite. Add a couple of house rules (like just run it normal with 1 GM) and it's more or less fine.

2.0 seems to fix a lot of issues I had with it (Karma and Nuyen aren't the same thing now).


The KS seems to ask a bit much for what they give though. No free PDF with physical book purchase. And it's $30 to add one. Or choose the $111 tier. And I get shipping is shipping but all together just for the book and "free" GM screen (plus unlocks) is $80 I'd rather knock $20 off and not get a "free" GM screen.

But yeah, I love SR. Loved SRA1, so Im in at the physical minimum for SRA2. Just wish it had a PDF with it.

Hopefully if enough people complain they will add a cheaper PDF for physical backers addon like for $5-10. But yeah in this day in age its bewildering that a free pdf isn't included with physical purchase. At the minimum its a perk for buying directly from them instead of somewhere else

It gets weirder. They saw people complaining about it and the fix they came up with is if you pay for both the Book and PDF you get a $15 coupon for their webstore! Dystopian Capitalism indeed, just like the books genre!

That fix is so weird. I also saw another person pointing out that if you could make two separate pledges: one for the physical pack ($50) and another for the digital pack ($30) it's cheaper than the pack with both (which is $95).

I remember another SR Boardgame KS that also offered up a coupon for the webstore, I didn't feel the need to give them more money for something I didn't want in the first place. Never used it.

Ive downgraded my pledge to just a PDF. I'll get the book from my FLGS later on.

$23 quid for a PDF shhhhheeeeeeeeeeeeessh. And it's 300 pages when SR 4A was 326 - I thought it was supposed to be "rules-lite"?

Guess I'm stuck with GURPS SR.
