Shadowrun D20 Conversion

First Post
I know that this thread should be on Conversions Forum or something, but I really need quick answer to my plea for help...

I used to be very big fan of Shadowrun few years ago... And now, in the age of d20, can somebody tell me if some company will do d20 conversion of this great system? Or maybe someone has done conversion on his own?

Please give me a link, or something...

THX...

There might be an unofficial conversion done (as Priest is doing), but there certainly wont be an official d20 Shadowrun. At least not at the present time.

Personally, I'd much rather play the original anyhow. If only I had time...damn those were some fun times when I got to play it regularly.

re: shadowrun D20

I can't fathom that there will be a D20 Shadowrun conversion. WhizKids (the oens who bought Shadowrun) are republishing the old FASA books and are working on a SR4.0 edition.

A 4th edition? Man, and I thought they finally got the system nailed with the 3rd.

Oh well. I would NOT like to see a d20 shadowrun. I haven't played d20 modern, but so much of the feel of a game is in the rules, you know? d20 Shadowrun would feel like D&D with cyberware, just like Alternity felt like D&D in space. The whole concept of "levels" and "classes" is too far from the core Shadowrun feel for me.

However, it would be nice to be able to convert the OTHER WAY, from d20 to SR. Think of dropping the d20 UltraModern Firearms book into your SR game and being able to easily adapt the items for play.

Okay, to add a bit of fact into this thread....

WizKids bought the SR property. They have licensed it to FanPro, who publishes the RPG. www.srrpg.com

There is no 4th edition planned at this time. There is no d20 conversion planned at this time. The core books by FASA are being reprinted as they run out, and new ones have been written (and are, if I do say so myself, some of the best things to come out of the line in a long time). Some of the old FASA books are still available, and can be ordered at any number of online shops, or directly from Fast Forward Entertainment, who handles distribution for FanPro. See here for a list of available books.

FanPro is also publishing the Classic Battletech lines, and they also have new books out.

My best suggestion for a D20 conversion if you're really itching to have one, would be either Dragonstar by FFG, D20 Modern, or Digital Burn by Living Room Games.

Y'all have a nice day.

Thank god.

I agree. They are very nice additions to the line.

You know, while I liked the setting for ShadowrunI never much liked the system. Too many unbalanced Archtypes/Races. And way too gentle a combat system, getting hit with a .50 should hurt.

D20 Modern might work, but the spell system would need heavy adjustment or replacement. And, umm, cyber gear might be nice too.

The Auld Grump, who played a Troll peacenik named Sunflower... Everyone now, 'Kumbaya my lord, Kumbaya...'

Michelle set the record straight, but i think Xandar was talking about the Collectible Miniature Game based on Shadowrun that seems to be planned by WizKids.

Funny, I always considered shadowrun combat to be deadly at any level of play.
