Shadowrunners chime in

Huge SR fan here as well. First got into it with SR2 in the mid-to-late 90s, but quickly transitioned into SR3 when that came out. My copy of SR4 recently arrived so I've been going through that. Still feel kind of ambivalent about it, but am waiting to give it a shot. Don't get to play these days too much, 'cause my group is very d20-focused.

Favorite archetype tends to be magic-users. SR is the only system I've played where I really like the magic-system. I'm intrigued by deckers in SR4 (I refuse to call them 'hackers'.) and really want to try out those rules.

Been a fan since 1st edition. I've only ever played in homebrew adventures. My friend who GM's has a big folder on Atlanta, which is where all our games are set. He lived there a while, and knows lots of cool stuff about the city, which he mixes in to the game.
(Beware of the Coca-Cola security forces ;)).

I'd played since SR1, up until the FanPro changes drove me away some time before SR4. Since I didn't like the changes to the setting, and don't care for the WoD-like rules system, I won't be getting SR4, sad to say.

Had a long running SR3 campaign that I used a lot of Call of Cthulhu adventures in, lots of fun. Favorite published adventure was Harlequin, though I can't single out one of them for favorite, I did enjoy the Sylvan Publishing run. Food Fight is the adventure responsible for the most fun scene's though. :)

Most of my characters ended up being lightly cybered mage types, evenly split between hermetic and shamanistic, with a sorcerer here and there.

I have several editions, many n0vels, and have made lots of characters, but Ive never actually been able to play, and wish to dearly :(

I had played and run from the original SR to the first few books of SR3. Then I just gave up. Though now in retrospect, the changes I disliked in 3E were pretty minor compared to 4e

I've been a fan since the original, but I've never had the chance to play it. I want to, oh so very much.

My favorite archetypes are the dwarf combat mage and a troll physical adept. :)

I've been playing SR since 2000. All around, a great adventure and RPing system. I'm a magic user nut (there's just something about casting spells 'till your brain is fried and oozes out your ear). There's something about playing a burned out thaumatology grad student that is eerily close to my own life.

I have always run homebrew games, ranging from the weird to the wacky. Despite the Seattle setting, I find all of my urban settings resemble RL Chicago's southside. How weird is that?

We played several campaigns in Seattle, but eventually moved the focus to the Boston sprawl as soon as we fleshed out things. Being able to relate to familiar landmarks is a good thing.
