Shadowrunners chime in

I've been playing on and off since 1e. Harlequin's Series is my favorite, though my players favorite has always been Food Fight. I know it's not a proper scenario, but they find so much joy in a shoot out in a Stuffer Shack :D After a long time between games Food Fight is always clamoured for as a refresher. But Harley is probably thier fav real adventure.

I've picked up 4e and been excited by what I've seen so far, and after the holidays will be starting a new campaign to give it a spin to see how it works in actual play. I may run Food Fight for the old crew as they gather in town for the holidays for old time sakes :)

Favorite character would have to be decker or drone rigger, but I'm partial to them all.

So how many of you fraggin rekheads bought the novels? What was your favorite? Mine was hands down Bruning Bright. 2XS was a close second though. Also, of you who like the novels, have bought the new one? I'm guilty of it (and already read it too).

Shadowrun 1e sat there on the game shelf. It was so far ahead of other titles in its time. It practically jumped off the shelf at my cyberpunk self. I always ended picking the movies, video games, and RPGs me and my friends played.

Another good choice, and my first selfmade class: Street Ninja.

We. Kicked. Ass.

Played since 1st ed. I loves me some Shadowrun. It's best when the scam/con/counterscam/who's-fooling-who games get many layers deep.

I'm curious to see how the new decking rules and the wireless matrix they stole borrowed drew-insipration from Cybergeneration works out. We had houseruled that deckers were played by NPCs and the GM just told us what happened since PC deckers just sucked up so much solo table time.

1st Ed ruled but contained some brokenness. 2nd ed was great. 3rd had it's points but had some oddnesses too and I don't have 4th yet.

And 1st ed can probably tribute 75% of it's early sales to Keith Parkinson.

And mages and Phys-adepts (once they were invented) were probably most of my characters. I liked bioware Sams too when they were distinct from cyber-sams. I understand that distinction was removed and I don't think I like that. I also have fond memories of a shamantic conjuring adept who follow Raccon and was a cat burgler.

I've got a whole bunch of them I'm kind of partial to the ones w/ Serrin in them I think they were Nosferatu, and Streets of Blood. I just finished the new one last nite. It was okay and left me wanting to read the new one coming out in Jan. Poison Agendas.

Okay so who's got the Duels figures? I've got about 6 of them and we play w/ them during the summer on the patio and in the yard w/ Guinness :D I thought this was a brillant idea but it could've been executed better. Action figures I could actually play a game with that was beautiful, but then it never got any good advertising, the figures could've been better articulated. I love it and still do.

Hoi.

Started with 1st edition. Decker, here. Or more to the point, had been playing the Combat Decker type before it was made an official archtype. Get on-site and do your decking from the inside of their network security. Heh, means the other players don't need to sit on their thumbs bored while you do your computer hoo-hah.

I have played shadowrun since the 1st edition came out. I liked all of the editions (I haven't checked out 4th edition yet). My favorite character type would have to be the rigger, followed by the street mage. I don't actually play much anymore, though, because it is hard to find players where I live. :(

I've been playing SR4 since 2000.

Wow. Where did you get that advance copy? ;)

Mostly I have played magic-users in one form or another. The must fun character was a human physical adept who was very good with throwing weapons. Sure, his range wasn't that good when compared to the gun bunnies, but when he was within reach, he could do massive amounts of damage...

Started with SR3 about three years ago. I adore the setting, and I adored the system. I would sell my Planescape players' organs to get into a good SR game. :D

My character in the one campaign I was in was a Russian Vory Mage. Another character I've used in series of oneshot games has been an Am Indian Elf Shaman of Trickster (Conjuration Adept) called Johnny Gringo.

Absolutely love SR. Played SR 1 donkeys years ago - 2nd serious campaign I ever played in and been hooked on it ever since. DM'd games for about 3 years before getting into 3rd ed.

Favorite material was either the 1st harlequin adventure or the Universal Brotherhood material...

Currently running an SR 3 game - PCs are just about to witness an an Aztec horror being unleashed on New York City. :D

Like Shemeska, I'd sell my players organs to play in a decent game... one of my current players is a real SR fanboy and has a great imagination. Been trying for the last couple of years to get him to run something, but he never makes time... It'll be worth it when it happens!

Favorite archetype is a skill monkey/techie. Social skills, sneaking, electronics and demolitions is a winning combination! :D
