Shape Spell Question

Luddite

First Post
I can't search and I did not see this addressed in the FAQ...

If I use the Shape-Spell feat from Tome and Blood, and choose the "4 10 foot cubes" can I stack or otherwise overlap the cubes? If so, do the stacked/overlap areas receive mutiple damages?
If the damage does stack, does the target then make one save for each stack? (Spell Resistance would be for all or none so it does not come into play here)

Aside from answers here, I would like pointers to an "offical" source (if there is one.)

Thanks

I'm going from what i remember of the Shape Spell feat in the FRCS book, but isnt Shape Spell's main use is to poke holes in your fireball so you don't affect teammates?

Archmage's power Master of shapes can be used to leave holes to your fireball, thus not affecting your allies.
The metamagic feat Luddite is talking about is Sculpt Spell from TnB. The Firebrand spell from Macif of Faerun has area of effect 1 5 foor cube/level and IIRC those can be stacked, but creature in target area would receive damage only once. I would interpret Scult Spell similarily.

Sculpt Spell allows you to shape the area the spell affects. It does not allow you to stack or concentrate effects.

Hence, if you decide that the 4 x 10' cubes of the area of effect are all in the same spot, your Fireball would only affect that 10' cube area. Hence, one save, one damage roll.
