Shapechange Nerfed by my DM?

My DM has decided that shapechange will not allow me to turn into anything with epic DR.

I think that is fair, I'd certainly rule the same way.

IMC (26th lvl now) we have 2 versions of shapechange now.

The 9th lvl version is limited to a round/level duration, and HD is limited by casterlevel (so 25+ lvl casters can do more with it).

And we made an Epic Spell that doesn't include any (su) abilities but lasts a day or more.

Getting all kinds of (su) abilities all day with the PH shapechange was just to much.

We defined familiarity as 'fighting it once' or 'knowledge check DC 20+CR'.

Reading this, I can only hope that the current campaign will be finished at level 16. So far, I'm doing good.
