Share Spell and Paladin's Mount

The share spell ability allows a paladins mount to be effected by spells cast on the paladin. I can't find it in the SRD but that is basically what it says.

NOw:

If a paladin casts Cure light wounds on itself does the mount get healed also?

If the Paladin lays on hands himself does the mount get healed?

It seems to be the answers should both be yes but I am not sure.

According to the FAQ, it works only on spells. The mount will be healed when the paladin casts cure light wounds on himself, but lay on hands is not shared, because it's a spell-like ability.

The rules are in the Familiars, Mounts, & Companions section of the SRD.

Incorrect reading of the FAQ. See the direct quote below..

Can masters who possess spell-like or supernatural abilities share those abilities with their familiars (or paladins' mounts)? Can the master share any spell she receives? Or just spells she casts.

Master and familiar (or paladin's mount) can share only spells the master casts on herself. (That is, the master must cast the spell and select herself as the target.) Spell-like or supernatural abilities can be shared, provided the master is using the ability and targets herself. See Chapter 1 of Tome and Blood for details.

P.S. - The SRD is, in fact, wrong in this instance. It states states that any spell cast on the paladin can affect his mount, whereas the actual rule is that any spell the paladin casts on himself my also affect the mount.

The incorrect rule from the SRD is:
At the paladin's option, the paladin may have any spell cast on him or herself also affect her mount. The mount must be within 5 feet.

The Sage (and I think it was Monte as well) said that it shouldn't extend to healing spells.

I think what was actually said was that you might want to split the healing, rather than giving the same amount to both. By the rules, though, you both get it.

I would apply the clarified spell sharing rules for familiars in Tome & Blood.

I just checked Tome and Blood. It says you don't both get it but you can split it up. The example they used is that if you are down 20 and got healed for 30 you can give your companion 10.

Now, is the paladin's mount the same as familiars?

Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid rule.

It makes no sense.

It's not even internally consistent.

"In a similar fashion, both master and familiar have their own ability scores..."

Bah. What rubbish.
