They actually *could* be responsible for it after a fashion... that could be where they originated... some primeval alien intelligence far out is the heavens launched the asteroids towards the planet... it's plan would have succeeded on several levels.... many of the gods sacrificed themselves to save the planet, reducing the amount of credible resistance it would face in taking control... & it's servitors were delivered in mass (any creatures we place with the psudeonatural templates - dont forget there is a non-epic version of the template in Tome & Blood we could use for lower level campaigns...).

That also leads very nicely into the leader Ahabhaal hunting down the Leviathan... perhaps he is one of the few creatures that has an incling of what truly happened... not to mention he is one of the primary forces for good...

These are the 16 leaders, they rest will all have the lesser template applied to them.

I was thinking of having other believe these guys were responsible or now who is. But I was not going to actually state if it was true (only I know the truth )

Ya, we can give Ahabhaal an obsession and he's diverting important resources to kill the Leviathon. We can give them a history of some sort to explain this.
