Nah... seriously... I was thinking that he had been laying dormant for eons until the "Great Sacrifice" occured... *that* would wake anyone up

OR, I was also thinking that before the GS, he was a lesser creature... and that he absorbed some of the divine energy that was unleashed when the gods started croaking... thus his metamorphosis into his current incarnation...

Either are good. We could do that with all 4 of them that are going to have low divine ranks. Give them one aspect that makes sense, and one almost at random to show how some of the diety power just got placed anywhere.
