In 3E, there was a minimum value for your total roll; lower than that and you rerolled. I twice played a character who was exactly at said minimum; the dice gods are not my friends

Yeah, I think it was a net bonus of +2 when the bonus values from all six stats were added together...or it might have been +0, can't quite remember now.

I had a character in 3e who started out at +2 net total bonus and she turned out to be the best character I've played in my life.

I found with the following rule:

If you have no score of at least 15 your lowest score becomes 15,

It's very rarely necessary to reroll.

Yeah she has 18 con. Vuman I think she has same stats you posted but 14 Dex, 19 cha.

Good move by her. With 14 Dex she might be better off using medium armor instead of heavy.

Good move by her. With 14 Dex she might be better off using medium armor instead of heavy. I don't know if she is already proficient in Constitution saves (depends on if her first level was divine soul) but if not, the 19 Constitution perfectly sets her up to take Resilient (Constitution).

She's good at min/maxing. She's not proficient in heavy armor anyway and iean heavily towards clerics in medium armor anyway.

If she wants to nova off I think she can twin a inflict wounds spell on two targets and follow up with a quckened toll the dead.
7d10+2d12 on two targets.

I play a lot of clerics and that is my preference also.

Well under the default array 14 Dex and con 16 wisdom is doable with multiple races.

Heavy armor melee kinda bad at least default array.

Hill dwarf is my favorite cleric race. My usual stock build for 27 point buy in medium armor is --

Strength 10 (2 pts.)
Dexterity 14 (7 pts.)
Constitution 16 (7 pts., +2 dwarf bonus)
Intelligence 8 (0 pts.)
Wisdom 16 (9 pts., +1 hill dwarf bonus)
Charisma 10 (2 pts.)

Vuman beats most things IMHO.
