Should I play a chaos mage

I am in a campaign with VERY low magic. This is because there are no clerics, paladins, or sorcerers. The ONLY(bards and rangers have no spells) healers will be druids. We did our rolls and sad to say I have a TON of Cha. I was wondering if a chaos mage is worth playing? Does he get killed off to easy? Are there any major advantages? Are the negatives too much?

depends what you want.

1) a chaos mage is much stronger and does much more dammage then a wizard/sorcerer

2) you will blow yourself up in the end as a chaos mage

3) you will have no misc spells like chapeshift and alter self, etc.

4) the paths of chaos are not balanced and poorly made.

But a chaos mage got style......
