OK, here is a question. (I'm not sure if the answer to this question will be "42"
), but here goes:
Should the Creature Catalogue finish converting OD&D monsters, AD&D monsters and update 3.0 conversions and then shut up shop?
or
Should the Creature Catalogue finish the conversions and the overhall conversions and then move into the "retro-conversion" business?
Echohawk is finding 4e monsters that were never invented during 3e. I'm sure there will be more new monsters when 4.5e or 5e or whatever comes out.
I'm sure that some people would love to import the best 4th edition ideas into their 3rd edition game (just as I'm sure that AD&D fans and OD&D fans would love to see a retro Creature Catalogue alternative that gives them more old school monsters to play with).
But this sort of thing would make the Creature Catalogue a project that never ends. (And I'm not sure if there would be any sort of legal problems with retro conversions.)
So I'm going to throw down the ultimate question and see if the CC management can give me a provisional answer.
Is this a good idea or am I crazy to suggest it?
