Shrinkage?

I'm not sure I understand. Reduce Person is a level 1 spell that reduces a person's size by one category. Alter Self is another one category jump, with additional caveat, at level 2. Polymorph is a 4th level spell that can reduce a person multiple size categories.

It seems to be a logical enough progression of spell power and level.
Searching through the spell compendium, nothing pops up that reduces multiple size categories except the Polymorph group.

Okay, here's the Giant Size spell:
Giant Size ( Complete Arcane)

Transmutation

(You need not assume the largest size you are capable of; you can choose to grow only to a smaller size if you wish).
All your equipment changes size with you, allowing you to use weapons or magic items effectively in your giant form.
See Table 2-2: Increasing Weapon Damage by Size, page 28 of the Dungeon Master's Guide, to determine the damage dealt by any weapons carried when you cast giant size.
Material Component: The scale of a dragon or hairs from the head of a giant.

I'm thinking there should be a reverse form of this that can make a berk tiny or even smaller. Basically, there needs to be a more powerful form of Reduction similar to this...

:hmm: So am i the only one wondering how to really make that work for a arcane caster? Yes, it is a cool trick, but how much will that spell mitigate a caster's lack of melee potency?

Do you know how big a colossal quarterstaff is? That's a lot of wood knocking at your door...

Who said it is meant to benefit combat? Sounds more like a charismatic benefit to me. Imagine what the ladies would say after you cast that spell.

It should be the same level as Giant Size, just as Enlarge Person is the same level as Reduce Person.
