Hey all--

So is there anyhting approaching a SRD or other on-line resource for Sidewinder: Recoiled? I'm mostly interested in a feat database I could share with my players or so on.

You're going to have to do it manually.

Unless you can find some disgruntled customers (99.9% are Kazaa users*) who wants to deny Dog House Rules and Green Ronin of their income based on their wares.

*Offense intended blatantly. :]

Well, I don't have Sidewinder, but I imagine that under their OGL the feats are OGC. Pretty much most/all are.

So check your copy. If they are, indeed, OGC ... then you're free to reuse them in your own product ... which could be a PDF to be dissiminated for free to your players. No theft involved or intended.

Not all OGC is to be found in an SRD, but not being in an SRD does not mean it isn't OGC. Just that they haven't bothered to make an SRD. SRDs are mostly for publishers who think that production of one will increase sales of their core books by engendering other publishers to create works derived from it that call back to the originating product ... adventures, expansions, etc.

Thanks! I guess the D&D SRD has spolied me...

I guess I'll just have to run a game fantastic enough to rope my players into picking up a copy of the book themselves.

That's the spirit that will keep the small game publishers going! :)

(who ran a game that didn't totally suck, thereby getting his players to buy Sidewinder: Recoiled themselves. )

Why not?
It's the best d20 Western product I've ever seen and one of the few d20 Modern products that correctly understands what the Base Classes actually represent. Also, the rules for hangings and alcohol are excellent.

Most impressive. :)

:) I don't have Sidewinder mostly because when I was going to run a western-type game I was also in the process of not having enough money to pay my rent if I didn't watch every outgoing dollar.

I still don't have Sidewinder because the western themed game fell apart. :)

I'm sure I'd love it, but I probably won't love holding it until there's interest in a western-themed game again.

(Even then, it was a western sci-fi game. :) But I DID want Sidewinder when we were gearing up to it. Just couldn't get it.)

Just out of curiousity what is meant by this statement? I've not looked at much 3rd party d20 modern stuff, so maybe it's obvious.

Unlike the core rulebook, Sidewinder presents the six base classes as problem solving methods. Strong heroes have direct solutions to problems, not necessarily high strength scores (though the two are not exclusive). Fast heroes are similarly direct but with more emphasis on skill and precision. Tough heroes outlast problems. Smart heroes figure out the logical solutions. Dedicated heroes intuit a solution, usually the right one. Charismatic heroes manipulate other people to obtain a solution.
So the town bully is probably a Charismatic / Strong character since he usually manipulates (scares) people into doing what he wants and uses physical violence upon those who aren't intimidated.

Did that clarify my statement for you?
