(OOC: You were in the adventure where he got that :p

Well, yes. I rapidly went from "the math there seems wrong" to "I'm pretty sure I know why" even though I don't really remember who got what... I did remember that there was a power preservation item in the pot, though.

(OOC: I love power pres items. They save you a lot on cheap buffs (10 HP of Vigour for 1 PP is a great deal too) and can help on the high end stuff with the last augmentation point--Astral Construct 6 may be not enough better than AC5 to be worth the points except on opponents with very high AC, but if Z can somehow reach level 10 some day, he can get AC7, and that is always worth the extra points because it gets Menu C!)

Iggy quickly casts 'Black Tentacles' on square M16. Thus its 20 foot radius should capture B3,4 & 5. Here's some grapple checks. Ooh. 22,17 & 19. You'd think I'd rolled d6s instead of d20s...

OOC: Standard Spells Prepared
Level 0 (4+1 div): detect magic(D), light(x2), message, ghost sound
Level 1 (4+2 int+1 div): True Strike(D), mage armor, color spray, protection from evil, magic missile(x3)
Level 2 (3+1 int+1 div): Detect thoughts(D), invisibility, levitate, mirror image, glitterdust
Level 3 (3+1 int+1 div): Clairaudience/Clairvoyance(D), Haste, Dispel Magic, Stinking Cloud, Lightening bolt
Level 4 (2+1 int+1 div): Arcane Eye(D), Greater Invisibility, Stoneskin, Black Tentacles

"Mongrel, befuddle these bumkins," Planus says, pointing to the two nearest lizardmen.

OOC:
Cast confusion (DC 18 will save) at O5 to catch B1 and B2.

Charlarn of Phyrah: male human cleric 6/ranger 2

Round 2:
Charlarn will dismount his horse (move action), saying to himself, "I should have gotten a warhorse." He then grabs his new holy symbol, and chants, "Lady Phyrah, bless your servant and his friends this day." (casts bless, duration 6 minutes. Each ally gains a +1 morale bonus on attack rolls and on saving throws against fear effects.) Then he steps forward to meet the charge (to E04) and draws Goruksblain, his gauntleted hand creaking as he does so.

AC 21
HP 50/50
bless in effect: Each ally gains a +1 morale bonus on attack rolls and on saving throws against fear effects.

'At least this Charlarn knows what he's doing. Bless is a good lead. Honestly, wasting their top spells on these pathetic lizardfolk? What are we going to do if we have to fight a dragon today?'

"Hold on a second with that Bless--we will have a new ally in a moment that could benefit from your blessing."

(OOC: Zaeryl would like Charlarn to delay until just after Zaeryl's power manifests. This will still place Charlarn before the bad guys, so it won't make Charlarn lose anything--just give the Bless to as many allies as possible)

Round 1 Concludes
Iggy cast a spell, causing tentacles to errupt from the ground and attempt to ensnare three of the Lizardfolk.

Grapple Checks v Black Tentacles (1d20+16=22, 1d20+16=32, 1d20+16=33)

[sblock=Tie]"In case of a tie, the combatant with the higher grapple check modifier wins. If this is a tie, roll again to break the tie."

It appears the grapple modifiers are the same. Tie Breaker: 1=Grappled, 2=Not (1d2=1) [/sblock]

Two of them suceed in pushing past the tentacles, but the third (B3) is ensnared.

While Iggy and his tentacles attack the Lizardfolks bodies, Planus assaults their minds. Will Saves v Confusion (1d20+5=10, 1d20+5=12). His targets suddenly appear confused.

Round 2 Begins
Charlarn dismounts and steps forward, casting bless.

Zaeryl starts to suggest holding off a moment on the bless spell, but it's allready too late when he opens his mouth to speak. Just after the bless, his construct manifest.

[Need target area for construct and Zaeryl's action.]

*The enemies are too far to manifest an adjacent construct to an enemy, so the construct he manifests will be in range and in the line to charge B3, occupying K12 as its lower-right-hand square (all four squares of the construct are not in the Black Tentacles and B1/B3 are closer to B2. Additionally, this makes it rather difficult for the three in the tentacles to extricate themselves while still moving towards the party). The construct will, by necessity, have Pounce, and an extra attack is always worth it, so that's what it has for menu options.*

*The Astral Construct pounces at the Barbarian, doing extremely poorly overall.*

(OOC: Two attacks are 31s and better hit or we are all dead. Together they did 25 Damage. The last was a 17, which probably hits due to the enemy's grappled status. If it misses by 1 thanks to Bless mistiming, that would be sad. It does 11 if it hits (terrible damage rolls all around). Rolls here)

'This was...extremely badly planned by all of us, including us. After these barbarians die easily, we should probably discuss tactics. We should be thankful to these pathetic creatures for attacking us so that we could discover this flaw before an actually dangerous battle occurred.'
