Signatures -- intermittent display

Has anyone else noticed that signatures are only appearing at the end of posts intermittently today? It is happening for my own posts, as well as those of others which I'm viewing.

As a point of example:
The most recent post I made in the Detroit Gameday thread does not display my sig line, while a previous post (and the initial post herein) does. Same for posts in other threads today.

Isn't it becasue there is a setting that limits the number of times your sig will show up in a thread? Ussually its the first and then after that, it does not show up. It might be related to how often in the thread you post. So if you do one right after another only the first will have a sig. If you come back tomorrow and post you probably will get a sig as enough time has passed to allow the theoretical page count to increment and so your sig becomes valuable information once more. At least thats how I would set it up if I ran a board.

Aaron.

That is certainly possible, and even makes sense. I just don't remember that being the case. However, I know a variety of things have changed about the boards in preceding months, but my time away (from EN World) has not kept me abreast of all these developments. I thought perhaps it might have something to do with my shift out of Community Supporter status (like losing the search function), which I've been negligent in renewing.

Curse RL interests and obligations which conspire to make me less of a consistent presence herein ;).

Sigs are setup to only appear once per page in a thread, in the first post by a given user. So if you post twice on a single page, the sig is only in the first post.

Thanks CL. Is this something relatively new?

BTW, I haven't spoken to you since GenCon -- how was the ENnies judging experience?

Again, this is one of the prices paid for less frequent forays through the wonderful community that is EN World.

*makes mental note to self -- spend more time here.*

Yep, it was fairly recent. I think it's a great change, though I'm so used to turning mine off that I still do it unnecessarily. ;)

Well, just to take this thread completely off topic...

It was great fun, but a hell of a lot of work. I read more game books in 2 1/2 months than I have probably read in the past two years. The discussion with the other judges was really interesting, and I learned a lot about not just the games, but how much variety there is out there, and how different perspectives can really make for fun discussions and arguements. Also, the number and quality of books that we got from small publishers was staggering! Some of my favorite books (including some that didn't make the final list) were things that I had never heard of, or had heard mentioned, but never planned on purchasing. Overall, a great experience, and one I'd happily do again, although next time I'd prepare myself a bit differently for the amount of work.
