Significant problems posting

Last night, before the 11pm EST event, I was trying to post a reply to the d20 modern board. It kept giving me a 30 second database timeout error, but I seemed to be able to post other (shorter) posts. I thought that the 11pm est event or my slow dialup might be the cause and tried it again today using my speedier work connection. Same thing.

I saved the text of my post as a text file and it comes out to 4k.

That's right in line with most others, as well. (Myself included.) They're looking into it.

I finally got my post to go through on the d20 modern board, but it took a few times. Okay, a lot of times.

I'm having the same problem too, I have been getting the 30 second timeout error for two days now (I'm crossing my fingers that this post gets through.)

I've tried a dozen times over the last two days and every time I get the 30 sec. error

I assumed you were referring to a "crash" at 11pm est in general and that you wanted to point out that your difficulties were happening somewhat prior to it. I figured you had missed the other thread so I tried to help you by linking to it. I probably misunderstood due to a lack of sleep lately. My apologies.

Hey Mark, how's your mom doing?

Not at all well. After violently rejecting the various treatments they have attempted, the chemotherapy is no longer an option and she can only be made more comfortable from here on out. Unfortunately her body is reacting poorly to all of the medications they have been trying so painkillers are not proving to be much of an option for her either. She's at home, in bed, convalescing but it is the most horrible thing I have ever witnessed in my life. It is a terrible way to die.

I do appreciate the concern, however, and thank you and other board members for being supportive during these rough days.

This explains some of the problems I had in the past few days.
I will see how well everything works. Problems with new versions of the boards are something to be expected.

Cutting down on the length of the reply seemed to fix it, though. Maybe it's a hint to be less waffly....
