Silence Spell

Buh?

So if I had a spell that protects against acid attacks... it wouldn't protect against acid damage? :-\

Don't ask ME. :D I never understood their arguing either.

Or, if I understood them right, they were all soooo concerned about their wizards with sonically substituted spells.

We recently trapped a Dragon who was also a level 20 wizard in a small room (by circumstance) an used "Silenced" (level 2 cler/bar spell) on some coins so that it couldnt cast any spells (including to heal itself among other crazy 9th level wizard spells).

Does this really work this way still? No one ever figured out people casting 20 feet radius silenece spells on coins was a bit powerful for completely neutralizing Wizards, Clerics, Druids, Bard etc. etc.?

Might I suggest that the dragon invest in a nice unseen servant spell? Cast it in the morning and it will be up for 1 hr/lvl. This type of spell can be used to remove pesky silenced objects .... right before the dragon opens a can of whoop hash on his enemies.

Note: It is not clear if the unseen servant must hear commands ... the spell description says only that it must take commands, not what form that command must follow. Some DMs may allow mental control of the unseen servant while others may allow a gesture to suffice.

Also, remember that a dragon need only get a portion of his body outside the silence field.

Not if the barbarian is holding them.

Yep, they seemed personally offended at the notion that a mere 2nd level cleric spell could negate their ultra-high-level PCs' Energy Substituted Soundballs (etc).
