"May thy dice chip and shatter!"
Also, larger resin dice are definitely breakable if they fall on a hard surface.Your standard plastic or acrylic dice are nigh unbreakable sure. But in these days of premium gamer equipment, there are dice of glass, stone, ceramic, and other materials, some of which may chip or break if you drop them on a hard surface.
Being so unpredictably bouncy is precisely what I use silicon dice for. When I run one-shots of Mothership, I pull out the silicon dice for players to use when their characters are acting in zero gravity. Silly, but it adds to the RP of the game.I don't know if they're what you're talking about, but I have a set of rubber dice included (as a gag) with something I kickstarted, and they are utterly unusable (except for laughs), because they absolutely will bounce onto the floor, and probably not in the direction you rolled them in.
Oh my.dice of glass, stone, ceramic, and other materials, some of which may chip or break if you drop them on a hard surface.
Ahhh I like that.Being so unpredictably bouncy is precisely what I use silicon dice for. When I run one-shots of Mothership, I pull out the silicon dice for players to use when their characters are acting in zero gravity. Silly, but it adds to the RP of the game.
