In v3.5, does 1/2 rank count as "trained" for use of a skill? Such as one skill point a cross-class knowledge skill. I think it did in 3.0 judging from the "wieldskill " spell p134 in Magic of Faerun text.
For a skill that's Trained Only, you need one full rank to be considered trained. The reason for requiring a full rank is probably to close the minor abuse of spending a bunch of half ranks in things like the Knowledge skills so as to break the DC 10 untrained limit.
System Reference Document v3.5 said:
Trained Only: If this notation is included in the skill name line, you must have at least 1 rank in the skill to use it. If it is omitted, the skill can be used untrained (with a rank of 0).
