On the fence at the moment, based on what I know.

I voted thumbs up as I'll at leat buy the 4e PHD, DMG and MM. If they suck then that will be my total 4e purchases. I'm hoping they don't.

MIDDLE FINGERS UP!!!

Hehehe, no, overall, it's positive. I've got some reservations about monsters as XP speedbumps designed only to fight and not do anything else, and some possible issues with the metasetting, but the game itself looks solidly killer.

Thumbs up.

To me, it sounds like we're getting better rules, more interesting design principles, and new background assumptions which are very useful and interesting indeed.

Wrong. There's the Fourth Edition spined devil's stats found on a Desert of Desolation miniatures card.

But if it's similiar to 3erd ed cards, it's woefully incomplete as it'll build in game mechanics to the stat blocks to save space. (try finidng improved initiative or some other feats on the old stat cards on the D&D side. bonuses are there, feats aren't.)

This is the kind of "sentiment" or background feeling that it's hard to point at examples of, but I'd say that the mods have been pretty evenhanded at keeping everybody on an even keel and reining in tempers.

I don't think they've been made to feel unwelcome, just that they've been asked to make substantive posts (I'd argue there are (still) fewer "I just signed in to say I like 4th ed. Bye!" posts than there are/were "I just signed in to say 4th ed ate my dog. Bye!" posts). This isn't because either position is unreasoned or anything, just that in the initial announcement, there was a tidal wave of nerd-rage; there are still a lot of healthy/normal members of the community who contribute here with negative points of view on 4th ed.

Everybody's been asked to make substantive posts. What's the point, otherwise? ;)

Only "they" can say if they've been made to feel unwelcome.

I did enjoy your 'nerd-rage' comment, however! :D

Given that very little real, solid information has been released about 4E, I would say this poll really tests people's hopes and expectations. It certainly can't test their objective reaction to non-existent information. Given this, I had hoped to see a higher number of positive votes -- it's still early and there's plenty of time for the game designers to make us all proud.

Yeah, it's really a poll of "are you ready for 4e?" or "what effect has the marketing had on you?".
