Simple Shield Question

Wear does your shield user store his shield when its not in use?
i was imagining strapped to your back (but is there a better place?)

How long (what actions) does it take to put your shield on? (from storage)
one move action to retrieve it, then one move action to ready it?

Depending on the size, you might just keep it on your arm, or something. The answer is, basically, "Where ever you want."

I think most people assume your shield is ready since it can hang off of your arm, otherwise it might be a standard action to grab it and wield it. I don't think there's a RAW answer, though.

If you're carrying it, then it's a move action to ready it. It's also a move action to loose it. I'd agree that if you store it (on your back, let's say), then that would require another move action (that provokes an AoO) to retrieve it first.
