Well they have made encumbrance all about inconsequential. An average character with 10 STR can carry 100 lbs without consequence. I think most folks will be well under that limit.
For carrying capacity for containers they could list assign a similar STR score. Wicker basket = 3, Steel chest = 18, dimensions that don't fit (like 10' poles) are adjudicated by the DM. (I mean, you could still carry it in your 2'x3' lockbox, but you can't shut it.)
