Single-Level Flavor (heh!) Classes

I agree that tumble as a permanent class skill would be somewhat of an issue. Maybe if you switched out the Dodge bonus to AC for the previous Initiative boost and trap sense, tumble would be ok.

Nah, I just gave 'em Knowledge (nobility and royalty) and Diplomacy. Seems to you that we're the only ones posting on this thread? I need to think up another flavour class or two.
 

This is good. I wish I had seen it before I started my current pbp game. I had the players take a NPC class. While quite a few "professions/backgrounds" can be simulated, the inability of the characters to keep the skills as class skills was a bit frustrating.

A suggestion. The thread is quite a long read. How about a "guidelines and classes summary" in the first post. Possibly with a post number or link to the relevent posts for the submitted classes.

doghead, I was thinking that I would start a new thread soon with the guidelines and the classes to date, so that people wouldn't be intimidated by the number of posts in the thread. I'm glad that you think it's worth it.

I do too!!

I loved this thread back when it started, but this is the first time I've seen it since it was about 3-5 pages long... wow, it's great to see such interest in the concept!

I've been considering using 'cultural flavor classes' to let characters emphasize where they come from in the campaign world (so you could have a 'Peshan' class, a 'Forinthian' class, etc).
 

Now there is a great idea. I just got the IKCG, and when I get home I might make some 1-level classes for the nationalities in it. Maybe for Eberron, too; a 1-level class for the monk/rogue goblin that gives them allows them to multiclass would be good.
