Rowan continues to approach, guisarme at ready, covering Lookspring, or whomever carries the scroll. He gazes at the ogre. How is it armed?

This Ogre is armed similarly to the others, carries a greatclub and javelin. Something about this one seems more threatening. Maybe it is posture or his use of common.

Lookspring approaches until he is ten feet from the ogre. Still holding the viper in his hands, he turns and motions Phoenix to approach as well with the snake men's scroll. "Their writing is there, upon our orders."

Rowan glances around, alert for any other traps or opponents he can see in the dim light. If he sees none, he smiles at the others.

When/if the ogre looks down at the paper, Rowan will slam it with his guisarme. (use 3 bab for power attack: +6 2d4+10 to hit 25 dmg 15

 

[Phoenix8008]

Phoenix continues to approach with the paper held out in front of her with her left hand. As she gets within striking distance and sees Rowan begin to strike at the creature, she reveals her blade and slices at the creature herself. Her strike is slow though and she is probably the last to strike...

As Phoenix approaches the Ogre, he smiles grotesquely and states You will taste good if this is a trick

At that moment Rowan surprises the Ogre with his attack and Phoenix follows with an equally damaging strike. The Ogre staggers back a step bleeding from both wounds. With a sneer He advances again dropping his javelin and holding his great club in both hands.....

Rowan keeps fighting, figuring the ogre should go down quickly.

Dropping the snake, Lookspring dives forward as he attempts to scramble past the creature to attack from the rear. He reaches for his handaxe as he darts in.


OOC - Attempted (and failed!) to tumble around the ogre without provoking.

The Ogre swings at the closest attacker with a roar of pain and anger he lands a mighty blow to Phoenix (attack=27, damage=19)

Lookspring attempts to tumble past and trips and stumbles instead and the Ogre catches him on the backswing with a devastating blow (attack=35; damage= 25)that knocks Lookspring further back out of reach.

Phoenix: strikes back with powered mindblade dealing 16 pts of damage


Rowan swings his guisarme once again but in the confusion of activity misses the Ogre.

The woman staggers under the heavy blow from the creature, but then raises her head to get back into the fight. With a sneer, Phoenix internalizes the pain of the injury and uses the anger to push more energy out of her mindblade. The glow of its crackling energy shines brighter as she lashes out at the monster with a scream pouring out of her like a waterfall plunging over the edge of a precipice.

Lookspring crumples to the floor as the devastating blow shatters ribs and pulps his organs. He rolls to his side and spits out a glob of blood. Grasping the wand at his waist, he triggers it to heal some of the damage.
