I updated Xalandra to 3.5 Psionics since I got the Expanded Psionics Handbook tonight.

Questions about that tome can be answered in this thread. Ask away.

Awesome job, Chris! I like what they did in the Expanded Psionics Handbook. Psionics has been a staple in fantasy literature at least since the writing of certain books of the Old Testament, figuring especially heavy in Eastern fantasy and myths told through the centuries. Katherine Kurtz, Larry Niven and many other fantasy authors of the 60's and 70's firmly placed psionics into fantasy worlds, lending psychic powers a magical air.

Interestingly (to me), many of the old tales of psionics show how the use of drugs poisons the mind and impairs people's psychic potential. I may have to create an Inzeladun rule to that effect.

That rule would rule!

Yeah, I've never read much psionic literature, but I sure do love DND Psionics. :)

So what are some of the major changes?

No Psionic Combat.

A lot of powers were done away with and most powers are augmentable (spend extra PPs at manifesting for extra damage/range/etc.)

Overall, it's really sweet. :)

I read in another thread that a psion has restricted powers depending on what kind of a psion he is. So is their a universal "school" for powers like detect psionics/magic?

What is this Psionic focus that everyone is talking about?

Yes, there are powers that are savant only or telepath only, but there are also plenty of powers that are Psion 2/Psion 3/etc.

Read this, it explains it right from the book.

Expanded Psionics Handbook Excerpt from WOTC.

I just noticed in the XPH that you no longer roll for DCs of spells. They're all base 10 just like for spellcasters.
