Skeleton Key Games

Is it my imagination or is Skeleton Key games not really a D20 publisher? I realize they at one point had a d20 product (Campaign Construction Cards) but if you go to their website through the front door and look around their links and various pages you'll see one and only one product -- the magnetic dungeon tiles. I have nothing against the tiles or the company but if they're not offering D20 products a) why do they still have the d20 logo on their site and b) why should they be listed in the d20 Guide here at EN World?

Hi there, Eric. In SkeletonKey's defense, they are (hopefully) soon coming out with the first of their d20 magazines, each focusing on a particular game aspect. The first is devoted to orcs. How do I know this? I submitted, revised, and re-submitted an article to them. I admit the going is a bit slow, but it might be too hasty to remove them from the d20 guide just yet.

Hope this helps!

This is true! The orc 'zine will be out in February last I heard. A great companion to Skraag- City of the Orcs by Mongoose Publishing, also out in February.

Disclaimer, I wrote one and contributed to the other, so I'm a little biased. :)

You're too quick with your d20 only rightful fury, my young padawan...
:)

I only add I would love if Skeleton Keys games ship their superb dungeon tiles to Europe. Why only Canada and US? :(

They told me some four month ago they were looking for a distributor, or something like that, but it seems the were not lucky... :(

Just last night Ed Bourelle and I talked about teaming up for issue three of Gaming Frontiers. He'll provide the maps, with me scribbling some details. Furthermore, the new issue of GF will feature one of Skey's maps along with an encounter.
Ed does a fair amount of d20 freelance work on the side as well. In summation, Skey's d20 activity is low key, but there is something happening.

Game on.

Hey all.

SkeletonKey will be publishing d20 material before the summer conventions this year. Hopefully in May.

Orcs: Savage Legacy will be our first foray into self publishing. We would have liked to have it out sooner (sorry Wil, won't be out in Feb) but there were some setbacks. To make a long story short, SKG is funded out of my pocket and when the software company that I was the creative director for closed its Seattle office...well funding suddenly got tight. We make enough off of our Adventure Tiles to keep the bills paid and pay our creditors back and we are working on getting ahead.

In the mean time, SkeletonKey does have a d20 adventure appearing in Gaming Frontiers Volume 1 that is compatible with our Adventure Tiles and Volume 2 will have some exclusive orc material that ties in with Orcs: Savage Legacy.

I have been doing a lot of freelancing lately, both art and writing, and have no intention of dropping out of site as a d20 publisher. Its might be a slow start, but it will be worth the wait.

Horacio,

We are going to GAMA in March and hope to woo some European distributors. If you can't wait, we can set something up through PayPal. Send me an email and we will come up with something.

I have to guiltily admit to being one of the sources of his loss of time. You see, Ed is an amazing writer, cartographer and artist.

We at Sword & Sorcery Studios have been working him like a halfling in an orcish mine.

You can't have him! Mine!

*ahem*

Sorry about that... ;)
