Skeletons... Piercing weapons?

First Post
Just a quick question. In the skeleton entry, and also the undead section of the MM, it says they take 1/2 damage from piercing and slashing damage. However, in the PHB (I dont recall withc section) it says something about skeletons taking no damage from piercing weapons. Which is it?

Half damage

The half damage is it. This has been mentioned in Sage advice (DnDFAQ at the WotC homepage).

Personally I prefer to give them DR10/- against piercing and DR5/- against slashing weapons :D

I liked the old (2nd ed. ?) rule, where piercing weapons did 1 damage per hit (slashing halved, crushing/bludgeoning full).

It seems a little weird, that a skeleton gets hurt by arrows and rapiers and such.

The PHB (isn't that in the "Survival Guide", those pages at the end of the early printings?*) is in error. The MM is correct, all but blunt weapons do half damage.

(Piercing weapons are shafted anyhow :D)

[Edit]
* It's also in the descriptions of te weapon headers in the Equipment chapter. The errata says:
Page 97, column 2, Type: delete no damage from
