Skies of Arcadia 2 - Confirmed!

I loved the Dreamcast version. I've played it through at least 3 times.

How is the GameCube version? Basically same thing with a few additions? What kind of additions? THanks.

Skies for Dreamcast was the first console RPG I had ever played {spent many years as a PC-only gamer}. I was absolutely captivated by it {after a brief initial period of saying "This is way too cute..."}. I let out a cheer when the camera panned around to show the aerial armada of NPC's that join up with you at the end. Skies rocked.

I'm playing Suikoden 3 and Dark Cloud 2 right now, when I get the chance, and both of them remind me of Skies, though there both signifigantly different.

Is Skies of Arcadia any good? What's it like? Is that the one that's based on a card game, or am I thinking of something else? I implicitly trust the opinion of a man with a Kevin Smith avatar.

Seriously, though, I need a good RPG. I bought Evolution: Worlds but it's really not very good. I'm so desperate that I even fired up Baldur's Gate II, which I started years ago but never finished.

It's really good, but I don't know how it compares to the Dreamcast version; I thought it made more sense long-term to buy a Cube and SoA: Legends than to look for a used Dreamcast and SoA.

I can't speak about the GC version of Skies, but a used Dreamcast is probably the best value in console gaming right now...

All hail Silent Bob. ;)

That link is for the Gamecube version. Don't let the review score fool you, this is a classic RPG. Tons of fun and gets better as it goes along. If you dig RPG's you owe it to yourself to check it out. :D

That's got to be due to the fact the didn't do much to improve the technical portions to get them up to cube standards. The DC version got a 9.2 (it was a different reviewer however), and gamespot definitely weights the numerical score based on how the game it measures up to other games on the same system.
