Skills as Feats

Profession falls under the heading of "I don't care." If a player wants to say he has X professional background I'll let him make checks on it without charging a feat slot for that level of detail.

Lore is all the Knowledge skills put together. There is no Arcane Lore, Nature Lore, etc - there is just lore. Splitting them up adds a level of complexity I don't care to have. Ditto for Perform. Craft is split 3 ways in the draft above and probably should be split 4 ways: Weapon - Armor - Alchemy - Miscellaneous Items.

Having the ability scores have associated feats clears the ground for having odd numbered bonus scores granted by magic items.

Improved Hit Die is promotion to the next hit die -- i.e. d4 becomes d6, d6 becomes d8, d8 becomes d10, d10 becomes d12 and d12 becomes 2d8 (Yes, That's sick, but in a fun way so meh ;) )

Spring Attack lets you move before and or after an attack, but the total distance moved can't be more than your speed.

I do not want classes that get bonus feats to be able to purchase skill feats - that's the rogue's new calling card I don't want to diminish it. If you want a load of skill feats play a rogue. If you want a load of combat feats play a fighter. Balances out.

Synergy bonuses are gone. They are partially reflected in the fact that some skills prereq off others (Tumble is prereqed to balance mastery for example).
