Slaine is impressive

Not pure skill based, but darn close. The only way to learn spells is through the Sorcery skill (that grants one spell known per rank) or by choosing a feat (don't recall the name, it gives 2 spells known). Then spells work on a Divination roll, a Bless role, or a magical attack roll (all classes have a magical attack bonus). Well, some spells you don't need to roll anything for. The roll sets the DC if there is one.

Y'know, I passed this one up today (picked up Way of the Samauri, Lords of the Peaks and Endless Sands, and ordered Encyclopedia of Demons & Devils Vol I because Vol II is just kinda incomplete without it...). Now I've read about a half-dozen threads on it and I'm regreting it.

Oh, well... Next payday, I guess.

Again, you should have picked it :D
A wondeful book, nice rules, pretty art and a spectacular game...

I couldn't agree more. The best part is the feel of the game. THe book really does an outstanding job of making one understand and be able to role play the culture presented.

Crothian go read the Comics... Erm... The correct word is Graphic Novels, they are awesome and the art is increadible!

A lot of the artwork in the book comes from the Graphic Novels, and that is what was kind of disapointing, i also hoped they would make a better effort at presentation (i had something grander in mind), they game is rather kewl though...

Slaine is indeed an impressive series within both Heavy Metal and 2000 A.D. It is very violent and yet the story outweighs the violence. Does Bizley still handle the artwork?
