Slam Attack

Can someone explain Slam Attacks? What are they, where are the rules for them, what is their benefit etc...


It has come up in the game I am playing almost every week and the DM is not sure on the rules and I can't find anything in my PHB or MM. My dog ate my DMG and since 4E is so close I do not want to purchase another one.

A Slam attack is just a natural weapon which does bludgeoning damage. That's all. No special rules. They work as other natural weapons do (see "Natural Weapons" on pg. 312 of the MM).
