Small Publishers on RPGNow

That was the reason I brought the discussion here. I no longer care to discuss it with only other publishers - I'd like the public's point of view as well.

Frankly, I think it's James' place to make any sort of official announcement regarding RPGNow policies. There's a reason the discussion is going on in a private venue. It's private. And until something actually happens, anything could change. I'm sorry you're upset and you want to vent, but doing it in public just leaves a bad impression for everyone.

How many high-quality, well-reviewed products are there out there that just don't scrape by enough sales to be considered "main-site worthy"?

Don't worry. From the discussions it is clear that exceptions are being made so that the high-quality publishers stay on RPGNow regardless of sales.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Also, the charity book we've been working on will be on the new site. That might not be a happy thing.

(crikes, started to ramble - sorry Jim!) But no, Jim, they haven't given us specifics or dates. Wow, didn't mean to take the long road.

Actually that was exactly the level of detail I hoped for, thanks. We'll just have to wait and see what they have in mind. I'm a big RPGNow fan and I really like the way they've run things up to now. I have faith.

Yes, we would have preferred if private discussions with our clients remained private.

Especially when somebody uses an easily searchable psuedonym to make the initial post from the safety of supposed anonymity, which means that they knew that it was supposed to remain private for now.

Cathix, if you wish to "out" stuff, just use your own username to do it.

As far as the discussion goes--the details are still being hammered out, and there will be an official press release and discussion when RPGNow is ready.

Cathix, PLEASE do not continue to air private business matters publicly. We're asking that this matter be kept to RPGNow's private forum until such time as the the details have been worked out, and an official announcement is made. Cross-posting certainly isn't helping the matter.

Gareth, I'm confused. What's your affiliation with RPGnow? Are you speaking on their behalf? Or as a publisher?

I'd ask elsewhere if my username and password for RPGnow were working...
