Smuggler's Bane: Digital Dungeon #1

Spectre Press

First Post
July 31, 2002: Spectre Press is proud to release Smuggler’s Bane, the first Digital Dungeon. A new concept in adventure gaming, Digital Dungeons let the GM put the map right on the table, at full miniature scale. Each room is a separate, full-color map tile. Not only are the tiles great for playing the adventure, but since the Digital Dungeon is a PDF, you can print the tiles as many times as you want and build your own dungeons. All tiles will be compatible with future Digital Dungeons, providing even bigger sets of tiles for the industrious GM. The adventure also includes Disposable Heroes, paper miniatures depicting the unique villains used to harass and challenge the heroes. Digital Dungeons use the Phantom conversion rules, available free from the Spectre Press website, so you can convert them to any game you play.

In Smuggler’s Bane, a hunt for ruthless smugglers uncovers a diabolical plot, and only the heroes can save the small coastal town of Rockpool. While the adventure starts with a fantasy theme, the Phantom conversion rules let you use it in anything from a Wild West game to a modern horror game. Smuggler’s Bane is 21 pages, and includes:

A thrilling 14-page adventure
Phantom statistics for every opponent, allowing easy conversion to any game system
14 full-color map tiles at 1 inch:5 feet scale, so your miniature are right at home
Disposable Hero paper miniatures of all opponents

Smuggler’s Bane is available for just $3.99 U.S., and a free sample is available to let you ‘flip the pages.’ Check it out now at the Spectre Press website: www.spectrepress.com

I just downloaded this, and it looks pretty good. You should hype up the fact that Ron Shirtz did the tiles. He does good work, and some people should recognize the name from the work he did for Dragon. Haven't read through the adventure yet.

Hmmmm... "A new concept in adventure gaming, Digital Dungeons let the GM put the map right on the table, at full miniature scale." ...you say.

You sure you've not been peeking at my site :) ???

...seriously though, the two mini-quests that appear on my web-site (complete with printable dungeon tiles for use with miniatures) have been very well received - so it's good to see a company finally putting out full adventures that come complete with printable dungeon tiles (which BTW - I am sure are gonna give my feeble freebie efforts a good old fashioned kick up the butt).

Anyway, all the best :)

PS - I just downloaded the pdf and it looks great!!! (though I would say that - as I am big fan of Ron Shirtz's work)

Are these printable scenario maps compatible with the Magnetic Adventure Tiles from Skeleton Key Games?

Has anyone approached Ed about a partnership?
