Snap Kick (ToB feat)

Has anybody noticed how useful this feat can be for the right people?

You need Improved Unarmed Strike, and you get an extra unarmed attack, with a -2 penalty to all attacks. Kind of like flurry, but not as good, since you're not using your primary weapon but a crappy 1d3 unarmed strike.

Only you can use it on with a "standard attack, full attack, or even a strike maneuver"!

Two attacks on a Spring Attack! Two sneak attacks when you tumble into a flanking position! Two skirmish attacks as you run rings around the enemy!

Plus, I like the visual concept of mixing weapon and unarmed attacks. If it's good enough for Michelle Yeoh...

I think it looks really good on paper but I feel it would be slightly less awesome, though still good in gameplay. Its main benefit would be for monks to be able to take an extra attack when moving around, and it adds a little bit more to the spring attack chain of feats. You could the extra attack onto your full attack action but that -2 on top of a flurry could hurt, and monks don't have a very high attack bonus in my experience.

Oh, that's my impression too. While interesting, it's not ZOMG TEH BEST FEAT EVAR. But at first, I though it was just crap, since I missed the fact that you can use it with a standard attack.

As and aside, I have suggested some time ago that monks should perhaps be able to flurry with a standard attack as well as a full attack, in order to emphasize their crazy mobility sk1llz.

True. Monks aren't the ones to get the most out of this, I think.

Rogues were my first thought, especially smart careful Spring Attacking rogues.

Martial adepts... I don't have enough experience to judge whether it's quite worth two feats, but it would make an interesting Tiger Claw adept, with a big weapon and unarmed strike rather than two weapons.

Makes a good combo with Superior unarmed strike, too. And specially interesting with Weapon finesse and Shadow blade; you can make a unarmed combatant that deals a lot of damage with unarmed strikes, with Str as a dump stat.
