Snatch thumbs up!

I've been living under a rock for a while.

See, I was going to buy this movie, then I heard about a superbit version coming down the line. Now I try to give the movie studios their money once for a movie, which is why I haven't bought Kill Bill and am still trying to find a boxed set of the extended edition triology of LoTR.

Finally watched it and it's great. Good dialouge, good cast of characters, twisting plot lines. All works out pretty well.

In fact it's Tip Top, innit, mate! If you haven't seen 'em yet, check out Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Layer Cake, Love Honour and Obey and The Final Cut for similar shennanigans.

Snatch is one of my favorites, I had to buy it straight away. I thought that the British just made superior comedies (Monty Python, BlackAdder, the good Coupling, Only fools and Horses, etc, etc, I can't really stand our comedies here in the States), but Lock Stock and Two Smoking Shotguns, Snatch and Layer Cake have proven that the British are good at twist of life tales as well. Maybe I was born in the wrong country.........

Myself I thought Lock Stock was a little too concerned with being clever. Snatch I thought was brilliant. Emotional and funny and raw and suspenseful.

I loved Snatch, but I wasn't wild about Lock, Stock. Have you checked out Guy Ritchie's BMW film? It's easily my favorite on that disc, and it's brilliant.

A short TV series based on Lock, Stock (loosely), called Lock, Stock and.... was also done and is available on DVD. Great stuff if you love British gangster flicks. Also try Gangster Number One, Love, Honour and Obey, The Limey, Essex Boys. The Debt Collector with Billy Connolly is good too, although not a comedy.

Is Brad Pitt so hard to understand in the original version as well? ;)

I only know the german version. Great fun for sure!

Yes, which is a very clever part of the movie. Does your version allow you to watch it with Pikey subtitles?

Brad Pitt's character is supposed to be hard to understand, only the other Gypsies really understand him (or each other most of the time).
