Sneak Attack Master

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the Blink spell now says you're incorporeal... ;)

"An ethereal creature is invisible, incorporeal, and capable of moving..."

Hehehehe. Anyhow, Ghost touch weapons will only help (if at all) a normal person to hit a blinking one, not the other way.

Ring of Blinking is nice, but I'd rather go invisible blade. Giving yourself a 20% miss chance can really hurt when that attack you needed misses.
Or, you could be a pixie rather than a halfling. That would mean you could be invisible all the time and sneak attack almost every moster that is crittable (is that a word?).

Of course, being a pixie comes with a +4 LA. That translates to less skill points (although a +6 to INT overcomes some of this), fewer HP, worse saves, and 2D6 less sneak attack damage. Not to mention later class abilities and a worse BAB.

I actually thought that the pixie would be overpowered as a rogue so I statted it out on paper and compared it to a halfling. There were plusses and minuses to each. It depends on the campaign. If you never fight monsters who are immune to crits, and very few monsters can get around the invisibility or the flying then it is overpowered. However, there are enough monsters out there that with a good variety of encounters, it should still be balanced.

It still sounds cool to be able to fly 15 feet in the air where you can't be touched, and get sneak attack damage from all your arrows/daggers/bolts.

Yeah. But read the DMG. It says an ethereal creature is _insubstantial_. ;)

It also says 'unlike incorporeal creatures, ethereal creatures are not present on the Material Plane.'

If you assume that the text of Blink is correct, you still can't hit them with a Ghost Touch weapon... because even though they're incorporeal, they're also on the Ethereal Plane.

Just as a Ghost Touch weapon won't let you hit someone who is incorporeal and on the other side of a wall, neither will it let you hit someone who is incorporeal and on another plane.

However, despite the fact that the outcome is similar, it's better to assume that the DMG, as primary source for Etherealness, overrides the PHB text of Blink.

Hehehehe. Let's see how they will describe the spell in the 4th edition ;)

Yea, because as is you really either have to house rule that you can't hit or be hit 20% of the time, OR that you can do both.
With the description of a Ghost touch weapon I really can't see it any other way.

Personally, I'll stick with ruling that ghost touch overcomes this both ways.
