Sneak attack when swallowed whole?

And that's why I have most creatures chew before swallowing. I figure being inside someone's mouth counts as automatic-critical for bite damage.

I don't know about automatic critical for the bite. I would just treat it as a bite attack simply before going into the things gullet. Because, if I am not mistaken, isn't the swallow whole ability a standard aciton. Not much time for the creature to chew effectively to creat the kind of damage that a crit with a bite would do.

Befor we give creatures with Swallow Whole too much protection, let's remember that swallowing a sharp, angry object is not, generally, a wise course of action. A human who swallowed a whole, live scorpion, for instance, would not be happy, self-sealing stomach or not.

Right, like I said, have the monsters chew for a few rounds before swallowing whole!

But, what kind of actions could the creature take while chewing?

Would it be completely dependant upon the level thier current dexterity score is at?

Because, I know quite a few people that couldn't chew gum adn walk at the same time.

Also, how many rounds were you thinking?

I guess that I should have clarified myself a little better.

How would you explain that in combat action terms, and could I, please, have a complete break down the form of an example? Thank you for your time.

Actually, I started a reply, but found a better answer in the MM. Okay, if you have this book, just look at the Snatch feat for dragons, pg. 62. I figure anything that can grab something and swallow it whole, should probably be allowed the use of the Snatch feat for it's bite attack.

And if you don't have the MM, let me know and I'll do my best to explain.

Yeah, I agree with the idea of the creature using the snatch ability before swallow whole. Only if the creature starts out with the ability.
