D&D 5E So can anyone sell me on Witchlight

Honestly, its going to sell from my FLGS if I dont reserve it, and Id rather it went to someone who would enjoy having it if that's not me. I have no issue with selling books I dont need, but buying things only to immediately resell feels too much like scalping, and tbh, its ruining many geek hobbies right now.
Fair, but I wasn't suggesting you should buy it just to resell. Rather, buy with the hope that you can use it and resell as a backup plan if you decide you can't.

If you don't like it, maybe the game store would let you put up a notice offering to sell it for the price you paid for it to anyone who wanted a copy and didn't get one.

This fall I will only get Fizban's in physical form. I will get crunch parts of Witchlight and the Harry Potter MtG thingy separately on Beyond if they look useful, other than that those books doesn't appeal to me.

it has a no combat option built in to the adventure, which suggest more problem/social/exploration focus and a reciprocity mechanic of some kind

Just re-sell it at cost, then. The end result will be exactly the same as if (new buyer) had bought it directly from your FLGS.

Consider donating it to an Extra Life event if you don’t like it. Or some other charity.

I like the ideas of the Domains of Delight in the book, but I doubt I will actually use the adventure within. For me, I will probably just get the monster & player content from Beyond. If you aren't planning to run the adventure within, I'd suggest doing the same - just pick up the tidbits you want from Beyond.

And, it isn't like the book will be unavailable after release. If it turns out down the road there is content in there you want, you can order it through your FLGS at a later date. In fact, I would say if you are on the fence about it - DON'T preorder it and actually take a look at the content before buying it to see if it will be of value to you. Personally, I've been burnt too many times in the past to buy RPG books sight unseen these days and I certainly won't preorder something I'm not fanatically excited about.
