So, how are the War of the Dragon Queen minis?

Okay, without starting a flame-fest, what's the distribution like on things like dragonspawn (and, to an extent drow)? Some of the minis would be great to add to the collection, but I have little interest in spawn.

Bluespawn Godslayer - LE; huge; uncommon (1 per 9 boosters)
Greenspawn Razorfiend - LE; medium; uncommon (1 per 8 boosters)
Blackspawn Exterminator - CE; medium; uncommon (1 per 8 boosters)
Redspawn Firebelcher - CE; huge; rare (1 per 18 boosters)
Whitespawn Hordeling - CE; small; common (1 per 3.5 boosters)

No drow, IIRC.

Cheers!

Got the Tundra Scout and it is magnificent, except for one thing, Both his and the Ogre Scrimisher's spears are a little bent. Is ther a trick to fix them?

Yes. Heat them up in near-boiling water, then put them in the right positions. Then dunk them in ice water for a while, and they should be fine.

Cheers!

Actually, Heat water to near boiliing. Take water off heat sourse. Insert figure into hot water. Remove frome hot water. Then bend to shape.

If you don't plan to trade it off, clip off the weapon, drill into hand and weapon head with a tiny drill bit in a pin vice/ hand powered drill. Replace rubber haft with toothpick or paper clip using a tiny bit of super glue. If you have those little cocktail toothpick swords, those make great replacements for DDM rubber swords.

I've gotten relatively few spawn because they're mostly uncommons. I'm actually fairly happy about that. However, I ended up being surprisingly pleased by even the bluespawn godslayer: on its own merits it's a pretty cool looking figure. It just happens to be completely unlike anything I've seen before. *shrug*

Seriously, this set has a lot to offer for RPGers. There are vastly more creatures from Monster Manual 1 than they've done in a long time (yay!), and the distribution makes them fairly easy to get. Grab a booster or two and you're likely to end up with a few figures that you can plan encounters around in the future.

Different patterns seem to repeat on local levels.
So a friend and I each 1 case and they were 90% similar. Almost identical huges (purple worm vs. displacer beast PL), half of the same rares, and an a very similar set of commons.

Course our rares were Tiamat and Dracolich… so I can’t complain (except about the dragonborn fighter and the goliath cleric… wastes of plastic on dumb wizards IP-of-the-month).

I get the impression that the distribution issues only crop up if you buy more than one or two cases. I you just buy one case or a few boosters, then it doesn't particularly impact you.

I skipped the last set but my case of Dragon Queen arrived yesterday and I'm very happy with the figures. (The purple worm is especially fun though I've no clue what the hell I'm gonna do with a halfling riding a dinosaur.)

Send it to me? That's my character in the Eberron game I play in. Ennio Morricone, halfling cowboy.
