So, how are the War of the Dragon Queen minis?

Boosters with the Nightmare art on the front never contain huge rares. That is the true fiasco of this set.

There have been reports of Nightmare boosters containing rare huges.

Cheers!

Bluespawn Godslayer - LE; huge; uncommon (1 per 9 boosters)
Greenspawn Razorfiend - LE; medium; uncommon (1 per 8 boosters)
Blackspawn Exterminator - CE; medium; uncommon (1 per 8 boosters)
Redspawn Firebelcher - CE; huge; rare (1 per 18 boosters)
Whitespawn Hordeling - CE; small; common (1 per 3.5 boosters)

No drow, IIRC.

Set list here: http://www.blackguard.ca/merric/miniset10.php

Cheers!

Crap! There goes $75.

I'd be more than willing to trade it away for some useful commons or uncommons. (Same thing with that damned Meepo, Dragonlord -- what a waste of a rare slot.)

Um . . . I have a few of those promo half-illithid lizard folk from Gen Con from a few years back. And I could probably steal some of my DM's crappy minis. He might not notice. Oh, and ooh! I've got a bunch of mismatched chess pieces, perfect for when the party faces the 'horse head statue' golem.

Sorry for being silly. I don't actually buy minis, but my DM likes to use appropriate ones. I've actually taken to creating characters that intentionally don't match any of the miniatures he has. *grins*

Haven't seen a thread on this yet, so I was curious to know if the WotDQ minis are up to snuff, or if we're staring the barrell of another War Drums fiasco.

How are they? Anyone got a complete set yet?

The weird thing is that I am more pleased with some of my Commons than I am with some of my rares. My common War Ape has a great sculpt and a great paint job. My rare Tordek looks like a silver and orange blob of crap...

Really? All the reports I have seen (not a lot compared to a guy in your position I admit) indicate that no one has gotten a huge rare out of a box with the Blackguard/Nightmare art. It is a disaster for this set if this is truly the case as many retailers are going to be stuck with Nightmare box art boosters and nothing else - they won't order more since they will have WotDQ stuff in stock.

It is a shame that this is happening (if it is true) as this is an excellent set. The common/uncommon selection is just about perfect (this big exception being that the stirge really should have been common but 'tiny minis are uncommon' seems to the case here) and it is the best set in a long while for pure RPG goodness (yar Pirates!).

My Tiamat had an error in the painting, there is a big splat of red paint along one of the wings :(

Out of three cases I only got one stirge and one Talon of Tiamat (I needed two), but two Bahamut, and a few other duplicate rares. I have one more case to open but I can't do so until my brother and I have our little sealed box match.

I agree with above comments. Tavern Brawlers make really good NPCs and the Cloudreaver is the spitting image a pirate from the Pirates of the Carrabbean ride at Disneyland.

I bought a handful of singles from CoolStuffInc and a booster pack or two, and so far I've been very pleased with everything I've seen. The Purple Worm is awesome, as is the huge fiendish spider...
